History repeats.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Ancient Egypt had 7 years of abundance, and then 7 years of famine. The USA is going through the same pattern of events. Would you like to know what is going to happen next in our economy? What events will have a strong impact on society? Look at the history of Egypt and you will easily see what's coming next. This method has already proven itself. Events are happening according to schedule!

We will look at time from the Bible’s point of view, considering six Bible stories. We will start with the story of Joseph in Egypt. This story will tell us what will happen by September, 2010, and in the very near future. The correlation between the ancient past and our present time has astonished me. God has revealed the future, from the beginning.

After the story of Joseph, we will consider the stories of Gideon, Jacob and Laban, and a few others. These all have 7 year time periods in them. From Genesis, the first book of the Bible, God has shown us that the money will fail by September, 2010. And that there will be food shortages here in America! The Bible predicts it, and it is never wrong.

Egypt's 7 Lean Years, Earth’s 7 Lean Years
Genesis, chapters 41-47, History Repeats

Genesis 41:26-32 “The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads are seven years; the dreams are one. “And the seven thin and ugly cows which came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty heads blighted by the east wind are seven years of famine.” This is the thing which I have spoken to Pharaoh. God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do. “Indeed seven years of great plenty will come throughout all the land of Egypt; “but after them seven years of famine will arise, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine will deplete the land. “So the plenty will not be known in the land because of the famine following, for it will be very severe. “And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. (NKJ).
Genesis 45:6, 7 “For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. “And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. (NKJ).
Genesis 47:13-21 Now there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished because of the famine. And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought; and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. So when the money failed in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For the money has failed.” Then Joseph said, “Give your livestock, and I will give you bread for your livestock, if the money is gone.” So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, the flocks, the cattle of the herds, and for the donkeys. Thus he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock that year. When that year had ended, they came to him the next year and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord that our money is gone; my lord also has our herds of livestock. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our lands. “Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants of Pharaoh; give us seed, that we may live and not die, that the land may not be desolate.”
Then Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for every man of the Egyptians sold his field, because the famine was severe upon them. So the land became Pharaoh’s. And as for the people, he moved them into the cities, from one end of the borders of Egypt to the other end. (NKJ).

Parallels With Today
Pharaoh had a dream regarding seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. Egypt's seven years of plenty and seven years of famine form a template for our time.
Egypt, in its day, was the superpower of the world. The USA is the superpower of the world today. Egypt had exactly seven years of more than plenty. We have also had precisely 7 years of more than plenty, (an economic bubble), 9/11/2001 to 9/11/2008.
After the fat years, Egypt entered seven years of famine. The people, though, didn’t run out of food until the second year. We have had a severe economic downturn since 9/11/2008.
We are in the second lean year, just as Egypt experienced. During the second lean year Israel moved from Canaan into the land of Goshen, (away from the cities). We should move out of the cities now, and grow our own food. The Egyptians ran out of food and money. Americans will run out of money and food, by September, 2010. In Egypt, the money failed! Our money will also soon fail.
Then the Egyptians bartered their livestock, which was their remaining wealth for food. Here in America, we too will barter our goods for food. After two years they had no more goods to trade for food. The same pattern will happen here in the USA.
Then, during the third set of two years, the Egyptians sold their bodies and lands to Joseph. We too will sell our land and bodies for food. Joseph gained control of all the food, money, land and people for Pharaoh, the real power, behind the scenes. There is a power that operates behind the scenes in our day as well. But that is outside the scope of this study.  I will cover that at a later time. Joseph moved all the people into the cities. Just as Joseph did, Obama will move the population into the cities. Joseph increased the taxes on the Egyptians and made them Pharaoh’s slaves. Obama will follow the same pattern, (See the executive orders below). This is not far off, it is at the door. The parallels with our time are too striking to miss. The Egyptians willingly became slaves in order to get food. Americans too, will willingly become slaves to get enough to eat.

Slavery will be revived:

Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
Executive Order 11004 allows the Housing and finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.
In Joseph’s time, there were only two groups that didn’t become Pharaoh’s slaves, the priests on Pharaoh’s dole, and Israel. The priests represent the elite, the ruling class. Israel, of course represents God’s people. Notice that they didn’t live in the cities, but moved to the country, the land of Goshen. Now is the time to make sure that we are part of God’s people. Now we must make certain of our salvation by spending a thoughtful hour meditating on the self-sacrificing love of Jesus. Now is the time to get out of the cities. Now is the time to find a piece of land where you can grow your own food.

We all know what happened on 9/11/2001, with the collapse of the Twin Towers and building 7. What is not so well know is what happened exactly 7 years later on 9/11/2008.
Rep. Paul Kanjorski, (D, Penn) Chairman of the House’s Capitol Markets Subcommittee discussed what happened on 9/11/2008 on C-SPAN. He tells us the reasons for the massive bailout:

Paul Kanjorski
“Why did we do that? We did that because look, I was there when the Secretary of the Treasury and Chairman of the Federal Reserve came and talked with members of Congress about what was going on, it was about September the 15th…Here’s the facts and we don’t even talk about these things.”
“On Thursday [September 11, 2008] at about 11 am the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous drawdown of money market accounts in the United States to the tune of 550 billion dollars, being drawn out in the matter of about an hour or 2. The Treasury opened up its window to help, pumped 105 billion dollars in the system and quickly realized they could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldn’t be further panic out there. If they had not done this, their estimation was that by 2 o’clock that afternoon, 5.5 trillion dollars would have been drawn out of the money market system of the United States, would have collapsed the entire economy of the United States, and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.”

Notice that Representative Paul Kanjorski says that, on Thursday about September the 15th, there was a tremendous drawdown… of $550 billion. The Thursday before September 15th was the 11th. On Thursday morning September the 11th, our current financial crisis began, precisely 7 years after September the 11th, 2001.

Our Money About to Fail
Many economists have warned that our current monetary system will soon fail. The Bible agrees. This supports 9/11/2001 as the beginning of the 7 years of plenty, which ended on 9/11/2008. Furthermore, Lehman Brothers folded under an illegal naked short’selling attack of massive proportions.
Our civil and religious leaders have not prepared us for the seven lean years. Note that after two of the lean years the Egyptian's money and bread failed. We have now entered the 2nd year of the seven lean years, years of famine. (The Hebrew year ends after the harvest, about September/October).
By the end of the second year (September 2010), our money will fail, and the people will not have bread. Then the people of the land will barter any items of value for food, as the Egyptians bartered their valuable cattle for food (This will last for 2 years). When these valuables run out, the people of the world will sell their land and souls to the rulers for food (This will last an additional 2 years). The rulers of Egypt transferred vast amounts of wealth from the people to the government. Obama will move the people into the cities. No doubt for better efficiency in food distribution. We see the same thing happening today, the largest transfer of wealth ever. History is repeating. The bankers have learned from history, have we?
Lehman Bros. was purposefully attacked on 9/11/08, early in the morning in what has been labeled as a "Naked short-selling- attack." Here’s a paragraph from a webpage describing the event:

Lehman Brothers
Although Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy on Monday, September 15, 2008, it was actually “bombed” on September 11, when the biggest one-day drop in its stock and highest trading volume occurred before bankruptcy. Lehman CEO Richard Fuld maintained that the 158 year old bank was brought down by unsubstantiated rumors and illegal naked short selling. Although short selling (selling shares you don’t own) is legal, the short seller is required to have shares lined up to borrow and replace to cover the sale. Failure to buy the shares back in the next three trading days is called a “fail to deliver.” Christopher Cox, who was chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2008, said in a July 2009 article that naked short selling “can allow manipulators to force prices down far lower than would be possible in legitimate short-selling conditions.” By September 11, 2008, according to the SEC, as many as 32.8 million Lehman shares had been sold and not delivered – a 57-fold increase over the peak of the prior year. For a very large company like Lehman, with plenty of “float” (available shares for trading), this unprecedented number was highly suspicious and warranted serious investigation. But the SEC, which was criticized for failing to follow up even on tips that Bernie Madoff’s business was a ponzi scheme, has yet to announce the results of any investigation.

Patterns in History
What this naked short-selling attack means is that rich people and corporations (Insiders) with lots of money started placing huge, uncovered (illegal) bets that the share price of Lehman Bros. would drop rapidly. Everyone could see that the big money was betting against Lehman Bros. so of course many wanted to sell while they still could because the average trader figures that "Big Money" knows something that they don't. Well big money cashed in on the short-selling scheme, making a massive profit, and forced Lehman Bros. into bankruptcy, which they declared a few days later, on the 15th. But the attack occurred  on September 11th, 2008, at the same time as the huge money market drawdown. This was an organized, powerful two-pronged assault on our economy, our freedom, and our very lives. It accomplished exactly what they wanted. Our economy became unstable. And this gave the elite an opportunity to transfer huge amounts of wealth, which would eventually reach hundreds of trillions of dollars, from the taxpayers, common investors, and retirees to the insiders enormous pockets. The last two years have seen the largest transfer of wealth in recorded history. This wealth will be used to finance a war of some kind, soon. We can see this same pattern throughout history:
In 1906-7 the elite created a bank panic. Leading financiers such as J.P. Morgan took advantage and acquired vast amounts of wealth. This paved the way for the Federal Reserve to be set up in 1913 further facilitating vast transfers of wealth. This vast wealth was used to finance WWI, which began in 1914 just one year after the Federal Reserve was set up. Then, the elite used the people’s war weariness and this ill-gotten wealth to set up the League of Nations, which was an early attempt at a setting up world government.
The banking elite created the 1929 financial crash. Again, vast amounts of wealth changed hands. Prescott Bush, working with Chase Bank funneled these ill-gotten gains into Nazi Germany, which built a huge war machine and started WWII. After WWII the elite again capitalized on people’s war weariness to start the United Nations, another attempt at a world government.

The Biggest and the Last
We are currently in the largest financial crisis of all time. This is no accident. Wealth has been transferring hands at phenomenal rates, hundreds of trillions of dollars, with much more yet to come. One of these will involve the enormous derivative markets. In simple terms derivatives involve a type of stock market gambling that has been building in scale and risk for years, following bank de-regulation.
Again, this is all planned to take control of the US economy and its citizens. Wearied with war and facing financial ruin, Americans, and the peoples of the world will accept, yes, even beg for a world government to control banking, distribute food and bring in lasting peace. But that is not what will happen. The plans are to make slaves of all the people, to reduce the world’s population, and to force worship of a false “god”.
Lets tie this together. From 9/11/2001 to 9/11/2008 we had 7 years of plenty, even excess -- witness the housing bubble, rising share prices in the stock market, etc. September 11, 2008, saw the engineered collapse of the US economy and the beginning of the “lean years”, the 7 years of famine. The bailout was a pretext for the largest transfer of wealth of all time. Americans are losing their wealth at a rapid pace. Retirement funds, 401k accounts, investments, bonds, are all on the edge of collapse. Now, in 2010, we are in the second “lean” year. The money will fail by September, 2010. There will also be food shortages soon after the money fails. Beginning in September, 2012, for two years people will sell all their possessions for food. After that, in 2014, they will sell their land and bodies for food. Obama will move the people into the cities, for greater efficiency, which will also give him greater control in forming the New World Order (NWO). The NWO will change into the One World Order, headed by the Vatican.

What You Can Do
Brothers and sisters, now is the time to prepare our souls and our land to withstand the coming economic and money system failure. God has graciously warned us ahead of time. Failure to heed this warning will have dire consequences for body and soul. Pray and take steps to develop Christ-like characters, and to move out of the cities and suburbs and God will honor your faith with success.
1. Spend time meditating on Christ and his sacrifice for us.
2. Pray and do. Sell your place in the city.
3. Find a plot of land that has enough water and soil to grow a large garden.
Prepare your land and then your house. Proverbs 24:27, “Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house.”

When the money fails, bank accounts, stocks, and all other paper investments (including bonds, T-bills, etc.) will transfer to the enemies’ hands. Don’t count on the current economic recovery. It’s not going to continue for long. Don’t be lulled to sleep by the financial lullaby the news media is singing. They are paid to sing that song. The rise in stock prices is the bait. Your bank accounts, wealth, retirement funds, college funds, and other investments are the prize. The wealth won’t disappear, it will sadly, tragically go to those who seek to control  and eventually, kill you. You will fund their efforts to destroy you. Get out of the system, now! Invest in land with water on it, ministries, witnessing literature, garden supplies, greenhouses, tractors, tillers, soil amendments, or even precious metals, etc. Now.

Gideon, Judges 6-8

Judges 6:1-4 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains. So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance [food] for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. (NKJ).

Again, in this story we see seven years of famine, this time brought about by the oppression of the Midianites, [Hebrew, Contention]. Note that Israel had to live in the mountains during those seven years.

A Prophet
Judges 6:8-10 …The Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage; and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land. Also I said to you, I am the Lord your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But you have not obeyed My voice.”

We have not obeyed the voice of God. When God speaks to man He often tells us “do not fear.” We should not fear the false gods or apostate men. We hear the admonition not to fear three times in this story. At the end of time, we mustn’t fear the gods of this earth or men. But our survival depends on following God’s directions for our lives.

The Harvest
Judges 6:11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. (NKJ).

The winepress is a symbol of tribulation. Gideon is harvesting amidst tribulation. Gideon is a symbol of the remnant. Persecution, before the time of Jacob’s trouble will seem to limit, but will actually facilitate the harvest. Also pay attention to timing. Gideon is harvesting just before the destruction of the Midianites. We too will participate in the harvest just before the destruction of the seven last plagues falls on the vast multitudes gathered to destroy the remnant. In Judges 6:11-16 The Lord God gives Gideon a commission to save Israel.

Judges 6:21-24 Then the Angel of the Lord put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the Lord departed out of his sight. Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord. So Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord God! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.” Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Gideon prepared a goat and unleavened bread, sanctuary symbols of Christ. The second time, the Lord says, “do not fear.” “Perfect love casts out fear,” (1John 4:18). In the end times this encouragement is especially important. Gideon builds an altar (worship) when he gets a view of the God of peace.

Pulling Down Idols
Judges 6:25 Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it; (NKJ).

The second bull (mentioned three times), of seven years has lived just during the years of famine for Israel. The second seven years in Egypt were also years of famine, symbolized by the lean cows.
God instructs Gideon to tear down the altar of Baal and the wooden idol, which he does by night for fear of men with ten servants. The tearing down of these false gods, brought on a cry for Gideon’s death in verse 30. But Joash (Yahweh helps) reverses the sentence. Gideon’s act results in a new name (character), after he has gotten rid of the idols. So will we when we tear down the idols of human traditions, such as the pagan sabbath, and many other of men’s “religious” inventions.

Blowing the Trumpet (Shofar)
Judges 6:34, 35 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites [The Father is Help] gathered behind him. And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh, who also gathered behind him. He also sent messengers to Asher, Zebulun, and Naphtali; and they came up to meet them. (NKJ).

Gideon receives the Holy Spirit, just before the tribulation, to prepare him for the crisis. So too, we will receive the Holy Spirit in latter rain power just before our last crisis. Manasseh means, “he causes forgetfulness.” God forgets our sins, and longs to end the sufferings of his people. Lets cooperate with Him, as did Gideon. Then Gideon sends messengers to three tribes. Asher means “happy.” Asher had rich pastures and royal dainties. Happy are those who come to the battle on the side of the Lord. Zebulun means “longed for dwelling”. God longs to dwell with us, and we with Him, which will be enabled by the latter rain. Naphtali means “obtained by wrestling.” Just like Jacob, his father, we too must obtain our experience with the Lord by wrestling as we approach Jacob’s time of trouble. We must overcome every cultivated and inherited tendency to sin. Then Gideon puts God to the test with a fleece, and both times God comes through. We can trust our God as we approach the final battle. The battle is the Lord’s!

Judges 7:2, 3 And the Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’ “Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.” And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained.

None of us can save ourselves. Let us give God the glory. Again God brings up the issue of fear. The fearful turn back, the vast majority. The army was still too numerous for God’s glory; only those who lap with the tongue can be used. Their heads are up, indicating watchfulness. And the water of the Spirit must purify the lapping tongue.
In verses 10-15, God yet again seeks to alleviate fear in His follower. He provides a dream involving a loaf of barley striking the Midianite army—symbolizing the rock of Daniel’s vision—the body of Christ takes out the enemy, by standing and watching the Lord work. There are three major harvests in the Hebrew economy: the barley, the wheat and the grape harvests. The barley is the earliest, which represents the remnant, the 144,000. The wheat harvest comes later, the general harvest. The trampling of the grapes symbolizes destruction of the wicked.

The 300
Judges 7:19-22 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers—they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing—and they cried, “The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!” And every man stood in his place all around the camp; and the whole army ran and cried out and fled. When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the Lord set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; and the army fled to Beth Acacia, toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath. (NKJ).

The Lord Fights the Battle
In the dark of the night, in beginning of the middle watch the battle is engaged. They broke the pitchers, symbolizing the breaking of the clay of self and sin. They blew their trumpets, which points to troubled times which come just before the 7 last plagues when God will no longer restrain human passions. Every man’s hand will be against his fellow. The blowing of Gideon’s trumpets signals that the end rushes upon us. I have yet to identify for certain what Gideon’s trumpet signifies. It might be the 1st trumpet, signaling the beginning of the time of trouble. Gideon’s trumpet might be the 6th trumpet, which signals the drying up of the waters of the river Euphates, which means the massive destruction of the earth’s population. Waters or seas, mean people, (See Revelation 17:15). The Euphrates is associated with Babylon and so would symbolize lost people.

Summary

We have not been faithful to God. He has sent us warnings, and prophets. We have now entered 7 years of financial hardship, which will lead to famine, brought about by our unfaithfulness. The outward sign is the financial armies of the east, China, India, Japan, etc. who hold our debt in their hands.
Gideon is called a mighty warrior, which brings to mind the army of Joel 2. We too will be mighty warriors, on the spiritual plane. We too will pull down idols, such as materialism, man’s sabbath, the authority of the Church, the traditions of men, etc. We will put out “fleeces” to make sure that it is indeed God who leads us.
We will send messengers to the various “tribes” (churches) to join us in the battle. Many will respond. God will purify his army. The fearful will be sent home. Only those whose tongues are purified with the water of the Spirit will be chosen to battle the foe. Christ’s kingdom is not of this world. We too will carry trumpets and torches, to blow the warning call of the imminent time of trouble, and soon coming of Jesus. Our “torches” are the light of God’s word, including his 10 commandment law, (Psalm 119:105). Also see Psalm 19, James 2, Matthew 5, Matthew 22:36-40, etc.

Jacob’s Wives, 14 Years, The Time of Trouble
Genesis 28-33
The story of Jacob and Laban, and the story of Joseph in Egypt have similar elements of time. Jacob worked 14 years (two seven year periods) for his wives. The story also has a time of trouble. Jacob symbolizes the remnant, the 144,000. Women represent the people of God, the church (Jeremiah 6:2, Ezekiel 16, Hosea 2, etc.). In Genesis 29:10, Jacob removes the heavy stone covering the well, and waters three flocks of sheep. God’s remnant remove the obstacles to the living water of the Holy Spirit and they too water three flocks of sheep, nominal Christians, Catholics, and Moslems. Laban represents those who are in the church, but are of Satan, those who oppose God’s work for His people. Our worst enemies will also be from within.
Jacob, the body of Christ, the 144,000 could have gone home after the first seven years, but Laban deceived him and he was given the wrong wife! Jacob was delayed. He had to work another seven years. The remnant too have been longing to go home, but His right, perfected wife hasn’t been made ready.
We need to prepare ourselves by being in Christ. We need to be like Jesus in character for we shall be like Him and see Him as He is, (1John 3:2).
Get ready, get ready, get ready! When the bride is ready, Jesus will come for her and we’ll go home!
When persecution becomes fierce, the remnant will flee to the mountains of testimony. Notice in the story that God spoke to Jacob in a dream (Genesis 31:3, 13), confirming that it was time for him to go home. This parallels the story of Gideon. The Lord sent a prophet to Israel with an admonition just before their deliverance. We too must have a prophet to speak to us just before our deliverance.
Notice that Laban had defrauded Jacob, changing his wages ten times. We too will come under economic oppression, the buy and sell decree. This economic sanction will make normal life impossible.

The Buy & Sell Decree
Revelation 13:16-18 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. KJV

After 6 Years of Trouble, And 14 years of Working for his Wives, Jacob Flees
After he had been given the right wife he was able to start home. Jacob fled toward the “mountains of Gilead,” (testimony). Laban and all his brothers pursued Jacob 7 days, and overtook him in the mountains of Gilead. Family and friends (Apostate church members) will pursue the remnant, and will overtake them in the mountains. This will indeed be where the remnant will give their testimony.
When Christ’s bride, the remnant is ready, when they reflect His image, His character, when they have His law written in their hearts, they’ll be ready to head home, just as Jacob was.

Jacob's Time of Trouble
Before Jacob reached home he had a dark night of wrestling, “Jacob’s time of trouble.” We too will have to wrestle, spiritually, through Jacob’s time of trouble (Jeremiah 30:7). Jacob had to face a large enemy army that threatened to destroy him and his loved ones. We too will face a large army that will threaten to destroy us. Having gone through it, Jacob was saved out of his time of trouble. We will be saved out of our time of trouble too. Jacob, after his night of wrestling received a new name. We too will receive a new name, (Revelation 2:17).
Lets review. Jacob uncovered the water of life (Holy Spirit) and shared that with the women (Churches good and bad). He worked under unfair conditions for 7 years, and didn’t get what he had bargained for. Jacob worked another 7 years to get his love, Rachel, (His true bride, the church). Unfair wages made life hard for Jacob, but God blessed him all the more. (The buy and sell decree will make life difficult for God’s people near the end of time). God told Jacob in a dream that it was time to go home. He took his two wives, and their children, and fled to the mountains. The remnant will also flee to the mountains. We have already been told the signs to look for. (Another study). No one is allowed to harm Jacob and his family as they flee. Jacob wrestles with God, and gets a spiritual victory, (overcoming sin). Esau meets Jacob with a large army. God intervenes, and Jacob and his family are not harmed. Jacob goes home to his father. The remnant will wrestle with God and gain a spiritual victory over sin and self. The armies that surround God’s people will be unable to harm them. We too will go home to our Father in Heaven after God gives us victory over sin, self, and our enemies.

Jericho, Briefly
There are also parallels in the story of Jericho. Joshua led the children of Israel around Jericho seven days, blowing trumpets each each, and on the 7th day blowing the trumpets seven times.
Joshua 6:1 “Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in,” (NKJ).
The gates of Jericho were closed, meaning that probation was closed, as none went in or out.
Considering the story of Jericho and the trumpets, it seems to me that the trumpets of Revelation 8-11 occur after God’s people are sealed, and the lost are marked. The 7 trumpets on the 7th day would then represent the 7 last plagues.
When Gideon and his men blew their trumpets the Midianites, the Amalekites and the children of the east begin destroying themselves. This is the close of probation. Read Revelation 9:12-21, and compare with Revelation 7:1-4.

Additional Hints About Time

Jesus’ ministry lasted 3 ½ years. About nine months before the cross, He was transfigured to strengthen Him to endure His great sacrifice. The “body of Christ” will receive the latter rain to strengthen them just before they pass through Jacob’s time of trouble. There are many other parallels between the ministry of Christ and the time of the end. But that would be another study.

As in the Days of Noah
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man. (Matthew 24:38, 39, ASV)

They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:27, ASV)
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:3-5, KJV).

God sees the same conditions in our world today. It grieves His heart to see it. God gave Noah 120 years to build the ark and warn the world. Our time of financial prosperity and ease ended on 9/11/2008 as described above. God has given us years of peace and prosperity to build our “ark” of land, outside the cities, to grow our own food, and to serve as outposts for the spreading the gospel.
In Noah’s day there came a chaotic flood of literal water upon the earth that destroyed everything except the ark of safety. We are facing an ever increasing state of chaos that will soon become the letting go of the four winds and we will face the chaotic flood of the “seas” of people who will destroy everything on the earth, except that which resides in God’s prescribed “ark” of safety. Just as Noah’s ark rode safely above the chaotic flood of waters, so we will ride above the chaotic flood of people raging in the cities. Those that disobeyed God and refused to enter the ark, preferring the jobs, money, culture and ease of city life were destroyed, even those that paid lip service to Noah’s message but didn’t follow it. It will be the same in our day.

Actions Speak Louder than Words

But like the wicked servant how easily we say in our hearts and by our actions, if not with our mouths, “My Lord delays His coming.” Actions speak louder than words. Make sure of your relationship with Christ. And if you still live in the cities do not blame God for losing your life and soul. He has faithfully warned you. The sooner you leave the cities the better. From now on it will get more and more difficult. If you think the economy makes it hard now, wait until there are travel restrictions based on some new swine/bird flu or other “pandemic”. Or some other natural or man-made disaster. Now is the time to pray and do.
Some Church leaders may preach peace and safety. But do you trust in man or God? Who do you listen to?

Trust in God, not Man
“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes, (Psalm 118:8, 9, KJV).

“Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help,” (Psalm 146:3, KJV).
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe” (Proverbs 29:25, KJV).

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD,”(Jeremiah 17:5, KJV).

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:6-8, KJV)

And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. (Genesis 6:21, KJV)

Food
As food was an issue for Noah, so it will be for us at the end of time. We must grow and put up food now. This will be one of our primary ways of ministering to those that God brings to us. When Jacob’s time of trouble comes God will provide for us. We won’t need to grow or store food, and we won’t be ministering to the lost. If need be the angels will feed us.
Noah believed God, and by faith worked to build the ark to provide for his family’s physical and spiritual safety. All were invited to enter the ark. He also stored food for the flood, his time of trouble, that the world did not see coming. He invested everything in saving souls. God counted his faith and works as righteousness.
By faith we build our ark of small farms and gospel outpost centers to provide for people’s physical and spiritual safety. And we grow, preserve, and store food for the time of trouble that the world does not see coming (even most Christians are unaware). We too, must invest everything in saving souls. God will bless our efforts.
For 120 years, Noah’s message warned the people to come out of the cities and come into the ark that God had given detailed plans of how to build and stock with food.
In Noah’s day, God, through the preaching of the gospel, divided all into 2 groups holy and unholy; those who got on the ark and those who didn’t. In our day, God, through the gospel is dividing all into 2 groups, holy, unholy (Saved by Christ and those who are not saved by Christ); those who get out of the cities, and those who don’t. Some who got on the ark were not righteous (Ham). Some who leave the cities will be unrighteous as well. But they will have time to change. Those in the cities will not. Leaving the cities will not save you spiritually, but disobeying and staying in the cities when God has warned you to come out, can cause you to be lost!
We can know of a certainty that we are in the last time. The above stories give ample evidence. Yet should any doubt linger, we will turn to three more stories that show that we are in the very end of time.

Six Days of Creation
2Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God made the earth and all that is in it in six literal days. God is all-powerful. He could have created the earth and all that is in it in one day, or even in one moment. He chose to create it in six days. One reason that God used six days to create the earth is that He wanted to let us know how long earth’s history would last, which is 6,000 years. As Peter tells us, “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years.”
Using Peter’s words as a guide to time, let us consider a brief outline of earth’s history from the six days of creation from Genesis chapter 1. Each day will be considered as 1,000 years. The six literal days of creation are a type, a symbol of the six millennia of earth’s history, as recorded in the Bible.

The 6 Days of Creation, A Second Meaning
Day 1. God created light. This refers to Adam. He walked with God in the garden of Eden. Even though he fell, he was the light of the world. He lived just short of 1,000 years.
Day 2. God separated the waters. This symbolizes the flood, which happened during the 2nd thousand years. (God doesn’t call this second day good!)
Day 3. God separated the land from the waters, and the land brought forth green herbs. This means that during the 3rd millennium (thousand years), God raised up the land of Israel from the seas of people (see Revelation 17:15).
Day 4. God created the sun, moon, and stars. The sun represents the “Sun” of Righteousness, Jesus, who came at the end of the 4th millennium.
Day 5. God created the sea creatures. This represents the early Christians, including the apostles, and other early believers, such as St. Patrick, Coumba, the Waldenses, and many many other followers of Jesus. These men had the breath of life, and swam in the sea of peoples who didn’t believe.
Day 6. First, God created the land animals. This foretold the protestant reformation, which occurred during the middle of the 6th millennium. Also during the 6th day, God created man in His image. It takes both man and woman to fulfill the concept of made in the image of God. This refers to the last generation of God’s followers, who will reflect His character fully.
Day 7. God rested from all the work he had done and hallowed the 7th day. This symbolizes the 7th millennium during which the earth, man, and God will rest from the curse of sin. The 7th day Sabbath symbolizes rest in Christ, and rest from sin.

At the end of 6,000 years, earth’s history will close with the 2nd coming of Jesus. We will then enter the 7th millennium of rest.

Joshua Gives Us the same Pattern
We can see a similar pattern in the story of Joshua leading Israel across the river Jordan.

Joshua 3:2-4 So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before." (NKJ).
The river Jordan symbolizes death. Joshua is a type of Jesus. The ark of the covenant also represents Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as He kept God’s commandments perfectly. God took human flesh and died for our sins about 2,000 years ago. Israel represents the people of God. Notice that the ark of the covenant led the children of Israel and went down into the midst of the river Jordan. Also notice that the people crossed over Jordan 2,000 cubits after the ark, and did it without getting wet, which symbolizes, without seeing death. Israel crossed over into the promised land without coming under the power of the Jordan river. They hadn’t gone that way before. 2,000 years after the death of Jesus, Christians (Israel) will cross over the Jordan (death) without getting wet, or in other words, without feeling the touch of death’s cold hand. As Israel wasn’t to come any closer than 2,000 cubits to the ark, so Christians can’t go home any earlier than about 2,000 years after Christ. Notice that the ark showed the people the “way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” We too cannot find the Way by ourselves. We need Christ to show us the way. We haven’t been to the promised land before. But soon Jesus will come and take us there!

The Woman at the Well

A Third Pattern
One more story found in John 4, illustrates this same idea -- Jesus’ visit with the Samaritan woman. Jesus asked her for water, and then offered her living water, meaning Spirit and truth, or the Holy Spirit. She ran and told the village about Jesus, the Messiah. And the villagers eagerly accepted Jesus’ teaching. “So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days”, John 4:40, (NKJ).
Using the same idea that a day with the Lord is as 1,000 years, two days equals 2,000 years. Christ, through the living water of the Holy Spirit, will teach the gentiles for 2,000 years. Jesus told his disciples that the Samaritans were ripe for the harvest. After two days of teaching, there was a great harvest. After 2,000 years of the Holy Spirit teaching the gentiles, there will be a great harvest, at the end of the age.

Three different stories each point to Jesus’ 2nd coming to occur about 2,000 years after His time here on earth. This indicates to me that we are the last generation until the 2nd coming of Jesus. There are more stories that we can look at that will give us more details regarding time and events soon to come.
